much for that introduction, and thank you to roger and cato for hosting this event. i'm thankful to have such a good kick off to the book, which is actually being officially published today. as roger mentioned i am going to start and talk a little bit about the mismatch idea itself and some of what we have done in the book. stewart is going to try to relate this martin fisher and what will be happening tomorrow. i am particularly glad to be doing this at cato because it stood for a lot of the values that i think are in the book, and i first became aware of cato and the 1990's when i was doing community organizing but in the beginning was thinking about policy issues and whether i should go back to graduate school and become a policy type of person. a big issue circulating at that time was the social security reform, and i started trying to analyze what was happening and i came up with this idea that social security is them structured and providing enormous subsidies. people receiving more benefits than they paid an and the interesting thing is the subsidies were for the class. so

. police say a man was shot and killed on rogers avenue near the a 80/101 interchange early this morning. christie smith is at the scene and joins us live with the latest on this investigation. christie, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, marla. we have seen homicide investigators going in and out for a couple of hours now but we haven't seen them taking any bags of evidence with them. rogers avenue is closed at brokaw after a man was shot and killed here. i spoke briefly with one officer on scene who said this businesses is called aloe bar tucked in with warehouses in an industrial area. it was around 1:46 this morning, san jose police received a 911 call of a person shot on the 1700 block of rogers avenue. this is in north san jose. first officers on scene found a man down, shot at least once. then about 15 minutes later he was pronounced dead at the scene. the victim has not been identified yet and at least one suspect, possibly more, took off. they're not saying yet if the shooter was on foot or in a car. i do have calls in to san jose police. as soon as i hear from them
